As the founder of The Welles Project-Bridge Point 8 Warehouse Sprawl, I realized that an increasing number of warehouses were being built across New Jersey when the Bridge Point 8 Warehouse Development project was proposed for his town.
Having lived in West Windsor for the last 10 years, I understood that there was little room for increased truck traffic and that the expanded pavement would worsen congestion, commute times, and air and noise pollution for our community. After years of being isolated during the pandemic, I felt that encouraging a love of the outdoors for children in our community was imperative. I worried people would lose interest in connecting and forming connections within a more polluted, congested community.
Flooding and climate disasters have only increased in recent years, discouraging us from enjoying the outdoors. I firmly believe that we should not be developing on wetlands and worsening the flooding issues.
